Log message:
This is a horrible hack to get 'cvs co -p -r 1.1 module/file.ext' to work
when your current working directory is 'module' validly checked out.

CHeckout was looking for the directory 'module' even though this is a pipeout
so it is not needed - this did work even recently - and this hack is
without a doubt the least elegant way to fix it - but it does work and since
the code is all dependent on 'pipeout' it shouldn't effect behaviour under
any other codepath.
