You should read my post on March 12 or thereabouts (can't find it myself now (have it at home)
concerning how to do a fresh install of CVSNT and making it work.
Look in the archives...
Otherwise you may also look at the www.devguy.com site

Hi All

I'm new to this list and have joined as I'm stuck getting CVSNT to run.
Normally I'd like to read what's happening on a list for a while before
posting, so if I'm stepping out of line or there is something else I should
have done before posting, I'd appreciate it if someone would point me in the
right direction. :-)

I was having some fun and games with CVSNT yesterday afternoon. I've made
some reasonable progress, but now seam to have hit a brick wall.

I've installed CVSNT on a machine we're intending to use as a server (by the
way does anyone know why it is suggested that you have a machine doing CVS
and nothing else?), created and initialised a repository and configured
pserver to use domain passwords by setting SystemAuth==yes in the config
file.

_Locally_ on the server machine I am able to check in and checkout CVSROOT,
this is how I changed config. I now want to be able to access the server
remotely from a Windows 2000 machine on the same network (eventually I'll
want to access CVSNT from a remote machine on the internet running Windows
98 - but let's walk before I can run ;-) ).

I've installed CVSNT on the client machine also and put the path to the
installed files in PATH for the system. I've also set up CVSROOT in the user
variables, thus:

:pserver:pg1 at Chorpcwks043:C:\Docume~1\pg1\CVS

pg1 - my user name.
Chorpcwks43 - The server running CVSNT
C:\Docume~1\pg1\CVS - Is the path to the repository.

I expected to be able to log into the server just by typing:

cvs login

on the client machine. It asks me for my password, which I enter and I get
the following response:

cvs [login aborted]: Error reading from server Chorpcwks043: -1

I'm a t somewhat of a loss at what to do next. Can anyone help, please?

I've also failed to find anywhere I can actually download WinCVS. Can anyone
point my in the right direction (preferably straight to the download link),
please?

Regards
Paul
