CVS has no idea that the drive is RAID; that is far below the application level,
so it is *very* unlikely to be the problem.  However, if your "normal" directory
is on a local drive and your "RAID" directory is on a mapped network drive, you
are facing inevitable NT security limitations.  The service running CVSNT must
have enough rights to access the mapped drive; the default SYSTEM user has only
rights to the local machine.

There are lots of discussions in the archives about what rights are needed and
how to configure the CVSNT user for mapped drives.
