If you are using WinCVS, Update the file then select the Merge tab and enter the latest revision (1.10 in this case) in the "Only this rev./tag" field and the revision you want to go back to (1.5 in this case) in the "Plus with this rev./tag." This will produce a reverse diff that will exactly undo any changes from 1.6-1.10 and return the file to the same state as 1.5. Then, commit the file and you will be at 1.11 (which will be completely identical to 1.5).
