Hi Tony or Bo; 1). I am in the process of setting up CVS server for NT Version 1.11.1.3 Beta 7 Build 49 on a Windows NT 4.0 Server Machine After using some of the instructions from the Readme.nt, after using some of Bo's fine suggestions, and his directions send me to DevGuy Where after reading through his materials he states on Page 14 of 25 of his CVS Installation on Windows Document found at: http://www.devguy.com/fp/cfgmgmt/cvs/cvs_admin_nt.htm And I quote "Windows 2000 is stable enough to be a CVS server. I am not aware of any CVSNT user that has a valid complaint about the operating system. Windows NT is another matter and should be avoided at all costs." Do you gentlemen agree or disagree? Should I purchase a Windows 2000 Server license for this CVS Server machine and start over with the setup of CVS server for NT? 2). I have to agree with a recent post that selecting between Ntserver authentication and Pserver authentication is confusing. Then we add in the idea of having clients across the VPN. It sounds like Ntserver would be the way for us to go, but I'm not sure yet. Ntserver would be best for us since we have one domain locally and we could restrict those that access it to Windows 2000, Windows XP or Windows NT 4.0 Workstation. 3). Would sspi mode that is first found in this Beta 7 Build 49 be better than either of these methods of authentication? What does 'sspi' an acronym for? Could we get more detailed explanations of how to implement this? Thanks In Advance for anyone's input. Joel Joel Robert Lemon Information Technology Manager POINT, Inc.
