(newbie) > CVS does not use a file called .passwd, so whatever you do with this file does not affect anything at all. You need to put a file named passwd (no leading period) into the <repository root>/CVSROOT directory. THis file must contain a list of the accepted CVS user logins. Each such login must exist in the domain or on the local CVSNT machine.
