Actually, he should be ok with his current version of WinCVS. I am using WinCVS 1.3.8.1 and a patched version of cvsnt build 57d right now, and it is working fine. The key thing to update is the ext_protocol.dll file. The bug existed in CVSNT prior to build 57d.
