If you use the .cvsignore file and give the user an option to (add/ignore) each new file, it would work okay. TortoiseCVS's "add" is pretty nice if you want to work from Windows explorer. And TortoiseCVS has an "add all files recursively" command that is basically like what you want, but it doesn't take .cvsignore into account, so it can be kind of slow. That is the "other" reason I sent you the patch to move the intermediate files. >> But that can't happen as long as: >> (1) so many programs are directly dependent on the contents of these >> files > > That isn't going to go away - cvsnt must be largely compatible with cvs > otherwise nobody is going to use it... Yes, I agree that compatibility is the main limiting factor. >> (2) people need to manually change the metadata (for example, when Tony >> gave me a CVS account, I had to change all my "Root" files to contain > > If it was in NTFS file attributes then it would be impossible to change > the root :-) At the moment it's really simple. Sure, that's exactly what I'm saying. Probably it should be possible to change the root without modifying the files by hand or with a script. But it is a very low priority thing because the type of change I had to do is rarely needed (and I believe it is sspi/pserver-specific). - Brian _______________________________________________ Cvsnt mailing list Cvsnt at cvsnt.org http://www.cvsnt.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/cvsnt https://www.march-hare.com/cvspro/en.asp#downcvs
