Hi Tim, . I assume if u r usign pserver, u have a paswd file in the folder CVSROOT under F:\cvs, if its not there we have a problem . Also if u have passwd file, make sure the local user being pointed to by the passwd file exists and has NTFS access permissions on the repository u created. . Also check if the local user has access to the temp folder that CVSNT is using .. Most of the problems are caused due to these minor errors. -jasmeet "Tim Diez" <tim.diez at imibevcore.com> wrote in message news:6322FCA0E40F7E4894940D1D8083B23F45B8A4 at LUXOR.newcospares.com... > Hello all, > > I'm new to the list so be gentle.... > > I'm trying to install cvsnt on a win2K server using pserver the cvsroot in exists, I'm using passwd file for authentication, and the service starts properly. > > My client setting is: > export CVSROOT=":pserver:tim at hostname:f:\cvs" > > What happens is it hangs every time I do 'cvs login' and never comes back whether it's from cvs command line in cygwin or wincvs. I've tried 'telnet hostname 2401' but that hangs too. > > I've searched the archives for resolution but cant' seem to find one.
