Hi there,
That's exactly what we are doing. The removed file doesn't get tagged. We
also tried checking the module out as of midnight and tagging; still the
removed file isn't tagged. The only way we found to tag the removed file is
to check it out and explicitly tag the file. This is not very satisfactory
as you don't really know the file has been removed until the build fails.

Thanks,

Hi,

I guess the best option is to use the rtag command, for example:

cvs rtag -D 2002-11-19T00:00 tag-name module-name

that explicitly tags the situation at the specified time.

Oggetto: [cvsnt] Tagging a removed file

Hi all,

Using:

d:\firmware2\build>cvs -v

Concurrent Versions System (CVS) NT 1.11.1.1 (Build 27)
 (client/server)

Copyright (c) 1989-2001 Brian Berliner, david d `zoo' zuhn,
                        Jeff Polk, and other authors
Win32 version (Aug 2 2001) Copyright (c) 1999-2001 Tony Hoyle and others
see http://www.cvsnt.org <http://www.cvsnt.org>

we can't seem to tag a file that's in the attic. We want to tag a snapshot
as of last midnight, but this morning some one removed one of the files.
The file is needed for the system as of midnight, but not as of now. Is
there a solution to this dilemma? Is it a bug?

Thanks,

Spike
