Nah, it's just a bug and a long standing one ;) In fact I am close to solving the whole issue - the problem lies in cvsgui protocol and the fix will involve both WinCvs and CVSNT changes. I can make the binary files working with a very small changes but then the text files are getting unixy line endings which is something that will complicate the issue. I am currently looking into the ways to make it working with old, "broken" versions as well as with fixed ones if possible. So, the menu item stays if not only to keep me working on it ;) Best Regards, Jerzy ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bo Berglund" <Bo.Berglund at system3r.se> To: "irodriguez perez" <irodriguezp at cirsa.com>; <cvsnt at cvsnt.org cvsnt downloads at march-hare.com @CVSNT on Twitter CVSNT on Facebook> Sent: Tuesday, April 08, 2003 7:17 PM Subject: RE: [cvsnt] update -p option over binary files The pop-up menu item in WinCvs Graph view is *really* misleading and this has been pointed out several times already. The "Retrieve revision" item should *only* be visible if the graphed file is a text file, because only then does it work at all. This of course is a WinCvs issue.... /Bo -----Original Message----- From: irodriguez perez [mailto:irodriguezp at cirsa.com] Sent: den 8 april 2003 11:11 To: cvsnt at cvsnt.org cvsnt downloads at march-hare.com @CVSNT on Twitter CVSNT on Facebook Subject: [cvsnt] update -p option over binary files Hi. I am using cvsnt 2.0.0 on the server and on the client. And WinCVS 1.3.12.1. Recently i have tried to retrieve and old revision of a binary file and tried with the next command: update -p -r TAG binary.file (The command was launch through WinCVS, with the graph and "Retrieve revision"). But the output file (binary.file#TAG) doesn't was the real file, its size wasn't correct. So i tried a checkout command and then the file was correct. Is It caused because the binary files are not mergeables??? I think this option would be useful. Thanks.
