Hi, I just wanted to let you know that I managed to get it to work with your instructions, but with some modifications. In the line 616 of viewcvs.py, I had to specifiy the full path to get to the sed binary, even though it is in the PATH, and I din't have to remove the extra '-' or the '--language=html'.
