I remember it used to say something different like: No branch xyz for file test.txt in older revisions. That sounded more logical to me. It didn't say it directly but it asked the user for the suggestion "branch or trunk". Either create the branch for the file and then try again or explicitly "update -A". That's not fine - I thought the old output could be clearer but now it's even more general... not even talking about branch tags :-( Sorry, just thought that someone cares... bye, OK.
