Just make sure the local use of cvs does NOT use :local: mode!!! You should connect to the server in exactly the same way you do from the other clients using whatever client/server protocol you have set up. Since you are more used to unix/linux I assume you have Linux users and have configured pserver. Then use pserver also on the CVS machine and you are fine. /Bo ----- Original Message ----- From: "Oliver Giesen" <ogware at gmx.net> Newsgroups: support.cvsnt To: <cvsnt at cvsnt.org cvsnt downloads at march-hare.com @CVSNT on Twitter CVSNT on Facebook> Sent: Thursday, August 28, 2003 12:00 PM Subject: Re: [cvsnt] Is usage of cvs.exe (as client) discouraged at the hostwhere the repository lives? > Pedro Horrillo wrote: > > > Is usage of cvs.exe (as client) discouraged at the host where the > repository lives? > > Couldn't imagine a reason why it should be. That's why I need clarification. If you think that there should be no problem at all, then my memory is probably tricking me. The desired setup is as follows: A CVS repository and, at the same box, a building setup (requiring cvs.exe to checkout the appropiate sources). I know that in a UNIX environment there would be no problem at all. But since in this win32 world the magic is all around, I just wanted to be sure.
