Preferably uninstall them (some types don't actually shut down even though they tell you they do). Then try again - it'll probably work. Then reinstall the firewall/antivirus in stages until it breaks again. If it's a firewall it's probably a blocked port which needs opening. If it's AV it's a bug in the AV and you should report a bug to the manufacturer. Tony
