Because CVS is a system built primarily for Western systems and it has been expanded to handle also files with strange non-Ascii *contents*. But the file names still have to be ascii. Also there should not be embedded spaces at least not in folder names. I don't think that Kanji will be allowed anytime soon... Come to think about it, I doubt that user logins containing Kanji characters can be handled. Tony may have more to say on this though. /Bo -----Original Message----- From: cvsnt-bounces at cvsnt.org [mailto:cvsnt-bounces at cvsnt.org]On Behalf Of Ding Yong Sent: den 8 december 2003 07:44 To: cvsnt at cvsnt.org cvsnt downloads at march-hare.com @CVSNT on Twitter CVSNT on Facebook Subject: [cvsnt] Why I can't add a file with filename include Japanesecharacter Why I can't add a file with filename include Japanese character ?
