Try disabling AV on the server for a few minutes, try the commit, see if it works. Like I wrote in a separate thread, there is an option for excluding a directory in Norton but all it does on it's own is suppress the actions taken when a virus is detected and it doesn't stop the actual scanning--you need to select TWO options to get the scanning stopped on certain directories.
