Thanks Bo, I was afraid of that. So, here is what I'm going to do: I'm going to design a rebustness test in perl that commits from one directory and updates to another on the client. Diff the files and report any errors. again and again.... I'll start that on several client machines and let the server run McAfee. If there are bugs, they should come screaming out. I'll report back soon. It's stupid to run AV on the sever, but again it's not my call. We have to live with the drawbacks to enjoy the benefits of our paranoid IS department :-) __________________________________ Reed Lawson IGT Firmware Engineering (775) 448-0755 > -----Original Message----- > From: Bo Berglund [mailto:bo.berglund at telia.com] > Sent: Thursday, June 26, 2003 10:54 PM > To: cvsnt at cvsnt.org cvsnt downloads at march-hare.com @CVSNT on Twitter CVSNT on Facebook > Subject: Re: [cvsnt] Latest on Virus Scan? > > > On Thu, 26 Jun 2003 18:12:43 -0700, "Lawson.Reed" > <Reed.Lawson at IGT.com> wrote: > > >One thing I need an answer on though is this: > >-------------------------------------------------------- > >==> Is it just Norton, or does this problem occur with > > McAfee too? <== > >------------------------------------------------------- > >Because if McAfee will work, my problem is solved. > >I fear that my IS department WILL want to run AV on > >the CVS directory because that is where most of the > >activity will be. > > I think that from reading the past posts on this issue Norton > generally is better than McAfee.
