There are a bunch of MKS to CVS scripts and how-to's floating around the
'net. Most of them only deal with part of the conversion problem.
I haven't tried the mks2cvs conversion but it looks pretty thorough.
What is it about version 7.6 that it doesn't support?
I have some scripts and some documentation that we used
when making the conversion (we were using version 7.5 of SI).
We successfully converted dozens of projects, including branches,
tag names, and binary files.
I am in the process of creating a SourceForge project to house
these scripts, and hopefully others will contribute their expertise
as well.
I'll post again in a couple of days when the project is up and running.

After an upgrade to version 2.0.11 and a change to :sspi: protocol from
:ntserver: our developers started getting notify emails when they
committed files on which they had an edit lock.
1. cvs edit -c file.sys
2. edit file somehow
3. cvs commit file.sys
4. receive notify spawned email regarding the file
This didn't happen under the old 1.11.1.3 version and it seems like
these people should not be getting notifications given the Cederqvist
entry on notify:
"CVS does not notify you for your own changes. Currently this check is
done based on whether the user name of the person taking the action
which triggers notification matches the user name of the person getting
notification."
I found a couple archive mails about this but the response recommend
going down an edit -a none route in the .cvsrc file. This is likely a
possible workaround but it seems like this a bug to me.
Is this a bug?

You could have a firewall installed that is blocking proper operation =
(some
firewalls still interfere if merely installed an inactive). NTServer =
and
Local gain access via different paths, but neither use port 2401 that
pserver and sspi use. =20
Also, check that you installed pserver and sspi protocols on both the =
client
and server (sspi isn't part of the old cvs, but only part of newer
cvsnt--you might want to upgrade).
You can check you are getting a basic connection to your server by =
telnet to
2401, hit enter a couple times. It should say "cvs [server aborted]: =
bad
auth protocol start:".
Sspi can either use a username + login or integrated, username is only
required when you're running across a firewall.

I'm not positive on this, but check for case sensitivity problems: change
the case in your notifications scripts to match the actual case cvsnt
sees,
check the log if you aren't sure.
I know that case sensitivity varies in cvsnt.
