Clearcase is a monster... almost a full time job. IMHO, should revision control be this complex? It is a sophisticated program but, from this developer's view, way too much. :) -----Original Message----- From: cvsnt-bounces at cvsnt.org [mailto:cvsnt-bounces at cvsnt.org]On Behalf Of Glen Starrett Sent: Thursday, December 02, 2004 11:32 PM To: cvsnt at cvsnt.org cvsnt downloads at march-hare.com @CVSNT on Twitter CVSNT on Facebook Subject: [cvsnt] Re: Ode to CVSNT Warren, Erik wrote: > Thus it is with no small amount of regret that I relate that we have > decided to move from CVSNT to ClearCase for our SCC needs. Good luck -- the WAN performance with the 'dynamic sandboxes' was absolutely terrible for us (there is no equivalent in CVS[NT], but that's how everyone was using CC). There was also a problem with the authentication in our mixed NT4 / Win2K domain structure that resulted in is moving *to* CVSNT. I never got too deep into CC (it was administered by another group) but it seems like a capable product. It was certainly expensive enough... -- Glen Starrett _______________________________________________ cvsnt mailing list cvsnt at cvsnt.org cvsnt downloads at march-hare.com @CVSNT on Twitter CVSNT on Facebook http://www.cvsnt.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/cvsnt https://www.march-hare.com/cvspro/en.asp#downcvs
