The local PC reference is concerning the location of the repository visavi the CVSNT service. The repository must be located on the same PC as where the CVSNT service runs. All other configurations are not supported. Access from the Internet can be more securely arranged if you open up the firewall on port 2401 and forwards calls here to the internal CVSNT server. /Bo -----Original Message----- From: Nicholas Geti [mailto:ngeti at optonline.net] Sent: Wednesday, February 11, 2004 6:11 AM To: bo.berglund at telia.com Subject: Comments on CVSNT Installation Tips I am having a lot of trouble installing CVSNT and the client, WinCVS. Some of it works but after trying every menu option on the screens for several hours, I had to give up trying to get it all working. In any case my first question concerns where to install CVSNT. I want to put it on our web server so that program developers can get to it from the Internet. Your documentation does not mention how to do this. Some newsgroups seem to think that this can be done easily. You state that the repository must be installed on the LOCAL PC. This is unclear. Would the web server be a LOCAL PC? If I install CVSNT on the web server how does it see the repository if it resides on a LOCAL PC if it cannot use mapped drives?
