I had a crash on the CVS server but unfortunately I do not know who caused the crash or what he/she was doing! Just to make things worse I did not manage to generate the crash dump. (We have been upgraded to v2.0.24 since a few days now, the crash occurred unexpectedly not the first time we ran CVSNT). Here is the info I managed to collect: Client=WinCVS 1.3.13.2 Beta 13 (Build 2) cvs version ***** CVS exited normally with code 0 ***** Client: Concurrent Versions System (CVSNT) 2.0.24 (client/server) Server: Concurrent Versions System (CVSNT) 2.0.24 (client/server) Crash message dialog: Title: cvsnt Message: Something bad happened to CVSNT, and it crashed. Would you like to produce a crash dump? I answered "Yes" and got: Title: cvsnt Message: Failed to save dump file to 'D:\cvs_temp\cvsnt-2.0.24.dmp' (error 5) I answered "OK" and got: Title: cvs.exe - Application Error Message: The instruction at "0x00446903" referenced memory at "0x141a000". The memory could not be written. Click OK to terminate the program. Click CANCEL to debug the program. I pressed "OK" as I do not have any sources installed. Regarding the file 'D:\cvs_temp\cvsnt-2.0.24.dmp': The folder exists and Everyone is granted full control, do I need to add SYSTEM or some other peculiar user rights? Note that the file cvsnt-2.0.24.dmp was created with a size of 0 bytes. Can anyone help me to get a crash dump if an error occurs? Thanks. -- Kevin Agius
