>From the docs it sounds like watched files automatically get coppied to your working copy in a read-only state. I have enabled watching of some files and it seems to work (if I list the watchers, it tells me who is watching it), but it is not making the watched files read-only. Should it? Or am I misunderstanding this? I tested it from a UNIX client (CVSNT) and also on WinCVS. I know I can make everything in my working copy read-only via preferences, but it would be WAY COOL if I only the watched files were read-only. Here is the passage in the doc I'm referring to: "11.6.3 How to edit a file which is being watched Since a file which is being watched is checked out read-only, you cannot simply edit it."
