There is a server componenets piece on the 4 screen of cvsnt-2.0.36.exe has a 'Server components' - I just always deslect that as I have a local repository, and connect to a linux repository. >>> "Chuck Kirschman" <Chuck.Kirschman at bentley.com> 7/9/2004 2:57:26 PM >>> We run both. By that I mean both clients, both servers, and use either client with the standard CVS on Unix boxes. We only use an SSPI-capable client with the WinCVS server. We're transitioning towards cvsNT, away from standard CVS. If you've already got it set up, go that route. It has more features than standard CVS. BTW, the cvsNT install is both client and server. So everyone installs the same thing, but just tells it not to create a lock server, etc. It would be nice if there was a client option in the installer that wouldn't do any of the server installations. chuck -----Original Message----- From: cvsnt-bounces at cvsnt.org [mailto:cvsnt-bounces at cvsnt.org] On Behalf Of Siegfried Heintze Sent: Friday, July 09, 2004 4:47 PM To: cvsnt at cvsnt.org Subject: [cvsnt] CVS v. CVSNT: which is best for me? I'm confused. I thought since I was running Windows I should download CVSNT so I did. I was then informed this was a superset of CVS and slightly different. Now I go to https://ccvs.cvshome.org/servlets/ProjectDocumentList?folderID=83&expand Fold er=83&folderID=80 and discover that CVS runs under windows. Hmmm... Is this CVS different from CVSNT? Bo kindly referred me to his documentation on CVSNT and I have not had a chance to study it yet. Is his documentation the only comparison between CVS for windows and CVSNT? Judging from the version numbers, it is. I'm wondering which I should be running: CVS or CVSNT? How do I determine which one is best for me?
