Hello Berglund, yes you are right, :ntserver protocol is not in use anymore. I just mistakenly type it, actually i meant to say SSPI protocol. Right now, due to some circumstances I can't use my NT 4 users so I am confined to use :pserver protocol. Ok, I am start reading your guide, but I will again ping you if i stuck in the middle for any problem. Thanks to be with me. -- Raheel. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bo Berglund" <Bo.Berglund at system3r.se> To: <cvsnt at cvsnt.org cvsnt downloads at march-hare.com @CVSNT on Twitter CVSNT on Facebook> Sent: Monday, June 21, 2004 7:49 PM Subject: RE: [cvsnt] problem making a cvs user with pserver It's like this: To make things simple: Don't use pserver at all! Use SSPI instead! If you use SSPI then CVSNT uses the user authentication from the login they did to Windows and there is no need for extra CVS login at all. If you persist in using pserver on NT4 then perhaps my guide from a few years back can help. It is not updated with the very latest but still usable. You can find it here: http://w1.862.telia.com/~u86216121/InstallCVSNT.html But concerning the basics, the CVSNT server is not completely set up and operational just because you have installed CVSNT, there are additional tasks to be done like: - Create the repositories for the server - Creating the pserver logins (if pserver is to be used) These administrative tasks cannot be done remotely, they must be done on the server console (at least the first pserver login = yourself must be created so that you can then add users remotely if you like to). Repositories can never be created remotely. Your reference to the ntserver protocol is strange because you state that you use pserver. ntserver is a different protocol and is no longer even supported. /Bo -----Original Message----- From: cvsnt-bounces at cvsnt.org [mailto:cvsnt-bounces at cvsnt.org]On Behalf Of Raheel Sent: den 21 juni 2004 15:23 To: Jain, Pradeep; cvsnt at cvsnt.org cvsnt downloads at march-hare.com @CVSNT on Twitter CVSNT on Facebook Subject: Re: [cvsnt] problem making a cvs user with pserver Hello, by saying "on your machine" you mean cvs client machine Or you mean to say that the machine where I have installed cvs server.
