Thanks. Well, at least it's different now: :-) cvs [checkout aborted]: connect to linux1.aal.gatehouse:2444 failed: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it. (I have set up sserver to use port 2444 in inetd.conf so that pserver and sserver may coexist). There is of course no AV on the server, and it is inside the LAN. I also do not have any software firewall on the client. -Torsten
