Hi Nick,

So far we've not seen noticeable decreases in performance. That said, most
of our operation is over secure connections between our branch offices and
our main office (where our CVSNT server is located). However, there are of
course ongoing fluctuations in our network performance and some of these may
be more accurately related to CVS protocol deficiencies. One question would
be how I might detect whether the decreased performance was related to these
network characteristics generally versus CVSNT specifically.

I've seen posts saying 2.0.58d was not the latest stable version, but have
also seen Tony mention that he thought it was. Now I'm not sure. We
certainly continue to see the previously mentioned error and I'm stil
looking for an explaination as to what causes them (and for how to eliminate
them). If any can help us with this I'd be very grateful.

Other than looking for the lockserver process in task manager, how would we
know if the lockserver has died? We don't see any messages during CVS
operation that would indicate this. Also does the CVSNT server monitor the
presence of the lockserver and re-start it if it sees it no longer exists?
Would there be messages in the event log to indicate any of these
occurances?

Thanks, -David
