I ignore files I don't want in CVS by putting the file ".cvsignore" in my CVSHOME directory which is set to c:\cvshome. I use the macro "Recursive Add" to add the files instead of import. I tweaked the macro a bit to set the file types (binary vs text) like I want them. Here is the contents of .cvsignore. This also causes it to ignore folders too. Also the files won't even show up in the listing of WinCVS so they won't be cluttering up the screen. I found this list on the web somewhere and modified it. *.aps *.bak *.bpt *.bro *.bsc *.cdb *.class *.dep *.dpd *.err *.exp *.gid *.gz *.idb *.ilk *.jar *.lnk *.ncb *.ocx *.opt *.pch *.pdb *.pjt *.plg *.res *.sbr *.scc *.sln *.suo *.tar *.tlh *.tli *.trg *.zip *.hm *.ww *.hlp *.log *.ph *.gid *.vtg *.obj *.exe *.sav Debug Release Demo -----Original Message----- From: cvsnt-bounces at cvsnt.org [mailto:cvsnt-bounces at cvsnt.org] On Behalf Of Siegfried Heintze Sent: Wednesday, September 22, 2004 12:09 AM To: 'Glen Starrett'; cvsnt at cvsnt.org Subject: RE: [cvsnt] Re: Import Command for Microsoft Visual Studio Directory I'm not sure -- I believe my question was misunderstood. I just wanted a list of file extensions to ignore when importing a Microsoft visual studio project. Most of those files types do not require version control. I suppose this technically not a CVSNT topic, but it is one that I imagine people using CVSNT and Microsoft Visual C (for example) would have to deal with frequently. Make new module, then add contents. It's easier to get started with than the command line. If you like the command line better, then I suggest reading up on the docs available at http://www.cvsnt.org/manual (for starters) and writing to the list when you have actual trouble with some commands (if any). -- Glen Starrett _______________________________________________ cvsnt mailing list cvsnt at cvsnt.org http://www.cvsnt.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/cvsnt cvsnt downloads at march-hare.com https://www.march-hare.com/cvspro/en.asp#downcvs @CVSNT on Twitter CVSNT on Facebook _______________________________________________ cvsnt mailing list cvsnt at cvsnt.org http://www.cvsnt.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/cvsnt cvsnt downloads at march-hare.com https://www.march-hare.com/cvspro/en.asp#downcvs @CVSNT on Twitter CVSNT on Facebook
