I just performed some tests with a local CVSNT 2.5.01.1927 server and it seems that there is something seriously broken (though it's possibly not that easy, otherwise I'd have expected this to be reported already). What I did was quite simple: Update a directory to a sticky tag, such as MyTestBranch or 1.1 . In both cases, from that point on, I could neither log nor update nor status anything in that folder (actually the only thing that still appears to work is cvs ver). All I ever get is either: cvs [server aborted]: tag 'MyTestBranch ' has non-visible graphic characters or: cvs [server aborted]: tag '1.1' must start with a letter The only way out is deleting/releasing the directory and checking it out anew (BTW: cvs release -d also produced the above error, but it did remove the directory nevertheless). This does not happen when I perform the update -r at the individual file level rather than the directory level so it seems it has something to do with the ./CVS/Tag file but I couldn't find anything out of the ordinary in there. Any ideas? Cheers, -- Oliver ---- ------------------ JID: ogiesen at jabber.org ICQ: 18777742 (http://wwp.icq.com/18777742)
