user is a system user. I add user in file /usr/local/CVSROOT/admin. CVSNT server still reject the connection with the following message: $ /usr/local/bin/cvs -d :pserver:user at host:2401:/usr/local/cvsroot login Logging in to :pserver:user at host:2401:/usr/local/cvsroot CVS password: cvs [login aborted]: authorization failed: server host rejected access to /usr/local/cvsroot for user user regards, commedo -----Original Message----- From: Richard Wirth [mailto:r.wirth at wirthware.de] Sent: Jumat, 13 Mei 2005 01:28 comm To: commedo Subject: Re: [cvsnt] Can't log in to cvsnt 2.5.01 Hello commedo, Thursday, May 12, 2005, 11:30:13 AM, you wrote: c> I've already configure /etc/cvsnt/PServer, as following: c> Repository0=/usr/local/cvsroot c> #Repository0Name=/cvs c> Repository0Description=My Repository c> I retried and got following error message: c> $ /usr/local/bin/cvs -d c> :pserver:user at host:2401:/usr/local/cvsroot login c> Logging in to :pserver:user at host:2401:/usr/local/cvsroot c> CVS password: c> cvs [login aborted]: authorization failed: server host rejected access to c> /usr/local/cvsroot for user user c> Am I missing something? Did you add a user named 'user' to your repository?? 'cvs passwd -a user' If not you should try a real user that exists on your server. You should have a user acting as repository administrator. This should be a real user. cd into your CVSROOT create a file named 'admin' and put the user name of this repository administrator without any spaces/tabs in the first line. Now this user is able to do all the thinks a repository admin has to do ('cvs admin' etc.) -- Best regards, Richard mailto:r.wirth at wirthware.de
