First of all: the CVSNT server install-uninstall-install cycle does not ever touch the repository data. It is like you would not expect all of your word documents to disappear when you uninstall Microsoft Office. The repository is just data to the CVSNT server. Likewise the CVSNT configurations you make are also data and are kept in the registry when you uninstall the server so when you install a new version those settings are re-used. However, since the upgrade step is quite long and lots has happened in the meantime the settings are not fully compatible so you will get a few defaults that you probably want to change. Concerning the versions, in all likelyhood 2.5.02.2084 is OK and would be a sane upgrade for you. There is one issue in this version that I have created a thread for today concerning the modules2 file handling. But that does not affect you since modules2 did not even exist on 2.0.11. /Bo -----Original Message----- From: Per.Yllfors at readsoft.com [mailto:Per.Yllfors at readsoft.com] Sent: den 9 september 2005 11:40 To: Bo Berglund Cc: cvsnt at cvsnt.org cvsnt downloads at march-hare.com @CVSNT on Twitter CVSNT on Facebook Subject: RE: [cvsnt] Upgrade server from CVSNT version 2.0.11 Hello, Thanks for your fast reply! Will the stored files and related file history be kept in the Repository after the uninstallation of CVSNT 2.0.11. >From your point of view, do you highly recommend to move from 2.0.11 to lastest version? For example now you can separately set the name and location of a repository, this was not possible before. 6) If you use script file execution like loginfo, taginfo or notify then you have to check these so they comply to the new requirements. Basically the only thing you must fix is path delimiters. Backslashes are no longer allowed, you must change all of these to forward slashes. Now you should be ready to go. /Bo -----Original Message----- From: cvsnt-bounces at cvsnt.org [mailto:cvsnt-bounces at cvsnt.org]On Behalf Of Per.Yllfors at readsoft.com Sent: den 9 september 2005 11:14 To: cvsnt at cvsnt.org cvsnt downloads at march-hare.com @CVSNT on Twitter CVSNT on Facebook Subject: [cvsnt] Upgrade server from CVSNT version 2.0.11 Hello, Where can I find information about upgrade procedures (guidelines) from version 2.0.11 to latest version of CVSNT?
