I disagree with you.

Change set grouping is one of the benefits. Others are, for example code 
isolation & promotion, ability to select the what CRs you want to 
integrate, without depending on a developer's working copy, ability for 
the developers to have save points for the CR being developed, among 
several others...

I'm sure that -B/-b options don't give you all the benefits you get with 
a CR branch.
