That explains why it falls over on machines with only dial-up internet access then. I have to run with LockServer=none, LockDir=H:\CVS\Locks and the cvslock service disabled. The standard installation will work, but only if I briefly connect and then re-start the lock server with a network present. A stand-alone CVS server might seem daft but some of us do work at home occasionally :-) It would be nice to get this sorted out before use of the lock server becomes compulsory. If you really really want to you can disable it in the CVSNT control panel, on the advanced tab.
