As I've continued to search, I've found others asking essentially the same question and also getting no solutions. In my case, after playing with it a bit, it seems the pserver protocol doesn't want to work at all. I'm following the advice given on http://web.telia.com/~u86216177/InstallCVSNT25.html and using the sspi protocol to add users. I've added regular users and alias users in addition to domain users (which is what I want to use). All the users appear to add correctly (I can see them in the passwd file). But when I attempt to login to my repository using pserver, I get "Fatal error, aborting. cvs [login aborted]: <username>: no such user". If I enter an incorrect password, I instead get an authorization failed message. So I think I'm authenticating successfully (which must mean it found my user listing), then it's dying somewhere else. Any ideas? I'm really stumped on this one. Did anyone else that had this problem ever find a solution? ..David.. -----Original Message----- From: David Jackman Sent: Friday, January 06, 2006 3:17 PM To: cvsnt at cvsnt.org cvsnt downloads at march-hare.com @CVSNT on Twitter CVSNT on Facebook Subject: RE: [cvsnt] pserver authorization problems Does anyone have any thoughts on this issue? I'm having the same problem. I've installed 2.5.03.2151 on Windows 2000 Advanced Server. When I was running 2.0.58d (on a different machine), I was able to use pserver with domain accounts, but all I get now is "no such user". Is there something new I have to do to enable this behavior? ..David.. -----Original Message----- From: cvsnt-bounces at cvsnt.org [mailto:cvsnt-bounces at cvsnt.org] On Behalf Of Pawel Bednarski Sent: Monday, December 12, 2005 7:08 AM To: cvsnt at cvsnt.org cvsnt downloads at march-hare.com @CVSNT on Twitter CVSNT on Facebook Subject: [cvsnt] pserver authorization problems Hello, Enviroment: Windows 2003 Server SP1 Windows domain Involved versions: CVSNT 2.5.01.1976 (works ok) CVSNT 2.5.02.2115 and above (may be that earlier versions too) - not works Problem: With erlier version of cvsnt, it is posible to authorize user with pserver using domain account in manner :pserver:domain\user at server:/repository. With newer version it is imposible. Message says: no such user... So my question is - why is it so? by design? or is it a bug? I've tried to find anything about this issue (google, cvsnt list archive) but found nothing... CVSNT in earlier version would be fine if it hadn't have nasty bug with creation of branches... -- Best Regards, Pawel _____________________________________________ Pawel Bednarski, RTS Networks Ltd Business Services Department Network Administrator _______________________________________________ cvsnt mailing list cvsnt at cvsnt.org cvsnt downloads at march-hare.com @CVSNT on Twitter CVSNT on Facebook http://www.cvsnt.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/cvsnt https://www.march-hare.com/cvspro/en.asp#downcvs
