I already wrote this to tortoisecvs-users at lists.sourceforge.net, and was
asked to report it to the CVSNT mailing list too. Here it is:

CVSNT Release 2.5.03.2382 (03-07-2006) writes zero-byte files to the
user's Temp directory on a Windows XP Home machine when TortoiseCVS
Release 1.8.26 (15-05-2006) issues the History/Diff (using WinMerge
R2.4.8.0, 13-06-2006) command(s), and the last version of the file to be
compared has 1,005,188 bytes and 21,291 lines of source code (this does
not happen with shorter ones):

 In D:\COBOLWB\SRC\NT\BV: "cvs.exe" "-q" "update" "-p" "-r" "1.63"
"BVZUG2.CBL"
 CVSROOT=:local:D:\CVSNT\Rep

 In D:\COBOLWB\SRC\NT\BV: "cvs.exe" "-q" "update" "-p" "-r" "1.64"
"BVZUG2.CBL"
 CVSROOT=:local:D:\CVSNT\Rep

Temp directory looks that way:

[C:\Documents and Settings\TB\Local Settings\Temp\TCV579d.tmp]

9-07-2006   7:47               0   ___A_  BVZUG2.1.63.CBL
9-07-2006   7:47               0   ___A_  BVZUG2.1.64.CBL

0 bytes in 2 files and 0 dirs 0 bytes allocated
46,595,956,736 bytes free
