I'm new to CVSNT, installed it just yesterday. I've installed it on a Windows XP machine running in workgroup mode (not connected to a network). >From what I can tell I don't seem to be able to communicate with the server using the command line client on the same box. For instance, when I try doing the following: CVSROOT=:sspi:mymachine:/GroupA cvs passwd -a foo I get: Can't authenticate - server and client cannot agree on an authentication scheme (got '') I've read through much of the docs and have searched the internet looking for answers to my problem. Unfortunately none of them see to resolve my issue. * I turned off simple file sharing * I tried turning off the firewall * I do have McAfee Virus Scan Enterprise 8.0 running, but none of the ports it's blocking are the ones being used by cvsnt. The only ports that are blocked appear to be 6666-6669 inbound and outbound. I have not tried uninstalling the software at this point. Anyone have any other suggestion? Is there anyway to get more information about what has happened like some cvs logging? I'm hoping I don't have to drop down to the netmon level. Is there a good document explaining how to setup the server on windows? I didn't find much useful information in the docs that came with cvsnt. Maybe because I'm not that familiar with unix some of the documentation was foreign to me. I do have other setup related questions pertaining to setting up users and authentication, but I'll send that as a separate email with a different subject.
