All: I posted this as a bug to the TortoiseCVS bugzilla, but I wasn't aware that they just wrap the cvsNT client. http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1498397&group_id=48 103&atid=451972 " Operations (commit, update, diff) involving large individual files (larger than about 800KB) experience large delays. The operation does eventually complete successfully. The duration of the delay does appear to be related to the size of the file, but I have not performed any testing to gather hard data about the duration of the delay. Group operations that include one or more large files are also delayed, but I haven't performed any testing to see whether the delay is proportional to the total size of the large files. The delays appear to be occurring within Tortoise, as logging in on the CVS server and checking process stats shows that the "cvs server" program running there is idle. The server system itself has also been observed to be idle (all CPUs at 0%) for extended periods at the time the delay was occurring. " Client: WinXP SP2, 1GB RAM, 50GB disk TortoiseCVS 1.8.26 cvsNT client 2.5.03.2260 Server: Linux, CVS 1.11.2 Any suggestions are welcomed.
