Hi Arthur, > Can you clarify? What I think you are saying is that > the 2.5.04 control panel appears but none of the fields > are changeable - when you click on the "elevate permissions" > button, the dialog appears, you press contrinue then both > windows dissapear? No. The Control Panel window does not appear. Only the User account control window appears and it shows the information sent in the previous message. After pressing [Continue] in that window, the window (the Vista's User Account Control one) disappears and nothing else can be observed. I am very new to Windows Vista and I do not know the details about how to elevate permissions, where and what should be set, etc. > If you run this from the command prompt what happens? > [from the corrected message] > "C:\Windows\System32\RunLegacyCPLElevated.exe" > Shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL "C:\Program Files\CVSNT\CVSNT > Tools\cvsnt.cpl", > [...] And also (without the trailing comma): It behaves exactly the same. No Control Panel window, only the one with title... > > ----------------------------------------------- > > Title: User account control > > Bold text: Windows needs your permission to continue. However, the EVS's Control Panel (evs 2.6.02.2581) worked. I guess that the Control Panels are similar. It even contains the texts "CVSNT" and not "EVS". Possibly some difference could be found when compared. Thanks, Petr
