Hi All,

I'm new to CVSNT/WINCVS and setup the repository as below:

1) I have the following folder structure which contains my project files to be version managed.
c:\Project
c:\Project\Desing
c:\Project\Desing\Use Cases
c:\Project\Desing\Class Design
c:\Project\Code\
c:\Project\Code\HTML
c:\Project\Code\class

2) I create a new folder "c:\repository" to hold my project repository

3) Created the new module "Project" into the repository (by using the "Import Module..." option) from "c:\project" folder.

4) CVS created a the full directory structure under "c:\repository" which contains "CVSROOT" directory and admin files and all the project files appending ", v" at the end.

Now I have following clarifications:

1) Now to checkout and modify any file, do I need to checkout the files with ", v" in "c:\repository" folder or the files in "c:\project" folder?

2) Does CVSNT need to have "c:\project" folder for checkin and checkout operations and maintaining the repository?

3) Can I take a backup of "c:\project" directory and remove it from my hard disk?

4) Also can I checkout/checkin individual files rather than a whole module?

Can anyone please clarify my doubts?
