That's what xdiff is supposed to be for (which is in CVSNT for ages now). A "server side pluggable diff". The only one we've written is for UnifaceCM. The idea is that it's server side so that when there are "web browser" type interfaces to EVS that they can use xdiff without having to use any external diff. xdiff should always support HTML and plain text outputs.
